Located on the Costa de la Luz we are in the real Andalusia, beautiful and unspoilt untouched by the tourism that has spoilt the better known coasts of Spain. Situated on the Atlantic coast in the southwest of the province of Cadiz, Barbate is the perfect all year round holiday destination. It is a small town at the edge of a beautiful natural park and provides a perfect base for horse riding holidays. The towns golden sandy beach stretches for as far as the eye can see. It has a promenade with plentiful bars where you can stop for a refreshing drink, a perfect place to spend your time when out of the saddle.

Beach gallops, canters along sandy tracks, races along firebreaks, the week provides superb off road riding. In between the fast work the horses move on at a relaxed and leisurely pace with a loose rein, enabling you to make the most of this incredibly tranquil and peaceful park. From four to five hours each day is spent in the saddle with a break for drinks. Professional English speaking guides, whose local knowledge is second to none, leads the small and friendly groups. The horses are Hispano Arab, horses renowned for their stamina and surefootedness.

The natural park of Barbate consists of spectacular cliffs, forest, sand dunes and the river salt marshes. Home to teeming colonies of herring gulls and egrets, along with a stunning variety of Mediterranean wildflowers, herbs and palms. The park is considered one of the most diverse and best-preserved parts of the Andalusian coast.

The accommodation is in apartments that are located in a quiet part of Barbate and only three minutes walk from the sea front. Each apartment contains two or three bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and bathroom and provides a superb base for relaxing after riding. Solo travellers, couples and non-riders are all made very welcome. Single people are allocated a private bedroom within a shared apartment with no single person supplement to pay.

Breakfast is supplied and eaten at your leisure in the apartments. Lunches are either delicious although simple picnics taken in the tranquil setting of the forest, or traditional 'Andaluz' cuisine in local bars. Evening meals are eaten at quality restaurants with superb meat and locally caught fish dishes being served. Vegetarians are catered for with delicious pastas, pizzas and tortillas. The meals are accompanied by good Spanish wines or soft drinks, which are included in the price of the holiday.
